Combine Jam with your Thanksgiving Turkey!
Plums are beautiful fruit with rich color than can enhance the holiday and cranberries don't have to be the only fruit to grace your Thanksgiving table.
In this post will give you some ideas on how sweet, sour and savory can all play well together when you combine Plum Jam sauce on the dinner plate. A scoop of jam from the bottom of the jar can take ordinary meals to a whole new level of yumminess. And the best part? It is easy!
Turkey with Plum Jam Sauce
The equation for one cup of sauce is simple: Cook a little minced garlic and onion with a teaspoon or two of oil in a saucepan for a few minutes. Add a 8-ounce jar of plum jam, a splash of vinegar (about 2 teaspoons), and a few pinches of spice (like garlic powder, black pepper, and paprika). Let it cook on low heat for about 15 minutes. Taste and adjust with more vinegar and spices as needed. Then baste, slather, and sauce.
For a family meal, and lovely presentation, I would platter mashed potatoes, topped with sauteed greens, topped with slices of turkey breast covered in plum jam sauce.
